SHRINK SLEEVES HAVE THE ADVANTAGE FOR
TENNIS BALLS

CCL Auto-Sleeve is supplying full body shrink sleeve labels for four and three ball packs of the new HEAD tennis ball

The Twinsburg, Ohio operation of CCL Auto-Sleeve is supplying full body shrink sleeve labels for four and three ball packs of the new HEAD tennis ball range, launched for the international tennis market by Penn Racquet Sports of Phoenix, Arizona.

The new balls have been developed to meet the needs of the many different playing styles and court surfaces throughout the world. The use of sleeves on the PET containers means the HEAD logo can be effectively displayed for strong on-shelf branding. The logo appears in different colors to distinguish particular balls in the range, while the sleeves also provide plenty of room for individual product descriptions.

The sleeves are UV Flexo printed on 50 micron OPS in seven colors, including three layers of high opacity white to create a totally opaque finish and maximize their decorative impact, while a small clear panel allows the balls to be partially visible.

This latest order not only underlines the strong working partnership between CCL Auto-Sleeve and Penn Racquet Sports, but also demonstrates the international nature and supply flexibility of the sleeve manufacturing operations within CCL.

Sleeves for Penn products were originally produced in the UK, but were subsequently transferred to the CCL Auto-Sleeve operation in Twinsburg in order to provide a closer manufacturing base, point of contact, and therefore a more effective overall service.

“CCL Auto-Sleeve has been an excellent partner to Penn Racquet Sports for our shrink sleeve product supply,” comments purchasing manager Vivian Giddens.

“Their professionalism, hard work and dedication are second to none. They are knowledgeable and responsive to Penn’s needs and are an excellent supplier. The success of the HEAD product launch was due, in no small part, to their contribution and we extend a sincere ‘thank you’ to them.”
